Two Arrested For Cocaine Distribution Near School

Xaviel Carasquillo, 27, and Anthony Vivolo, 42, were arrested Wednesday.

Melrose Police made two arrests after executing a search and arrest warrant with ATF agents Wednesday.

Xaviel Carasquillo, 27, of 100 Orange St. in Chelsea was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (Cocaine) , possession of Class A substance (heroin) and two distribution charges within a school zone.

In addition to this arrest, agents then executed a search warrant at 44 Hurd St. in Melrose, during which a second arrest was secured by police.

Anthony Vivolo, 42, of Melrose was charged with intent to distribute a Class B substance (cocaine), within a school zone.

Vivolo was arraigned in Malden District Court and released on personal recognizance.
Carasquillo was initially held on $2500 cash bail, which was revoked due to probation violations in a case from Somerville District Court.

It says a warrant was executed at 44 Hurd Street (that is the Lincoln School District).

Since the address on the warrant was 44 Hurd Street, the school was probably the Lincoln. That's assuming the distribution took place at 44 Hurd.

right, dave, and that's why i'm asking - the article doesn't contain specific information about where the distribution took place. one could assume that it was near Lincoln School - or another school in Melrose, or near a school in Chelsea.

I think if you were to assume it took place at Hurd Street, knowing Hurd Street, you probably wouldn't be wrong. If you're a Lincoln parent, that might be a wise assumption to make. The Chelsea individual was charged with possession with intent for both heroin and cocaine, in addition to two counts of school zone. That means he had the drugs in his possession at the time of the arrest. Then the warrant was executed at Hurd Street, and the charge for that individual was intent to distribute in a school zone, cocaine, which would seem to indicate the cocaine had changed hands to the Chelsea guy already from the Hurd Street guy. Sometimes the media doesn't the charges quite right, and the language of the charges is very specific. Perhaps the editor, or you if you care to, could clarify with the P.D. It does seem the location of the school zone(s) in question would be good to know.
