Two Drug Overdoses Over the Weekend

An adult woman and adult man were each treated for overdoses and taken to the hospital on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

and responded to two drug overdoses this past weekend, in each case with the victims being treated on scene and transported to hospitals.

On Friday, May 11 at 9:34 p.m. a 911 caller reported a drug overdose on Indian Hill Lane. Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau said that paramedics responded along with Melrose Police, treated an adult woman for an overdose and transported her to the hospital. The report did not state which hospital she was transported to.

Almost six hours later, around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, Melrose Police received another report of a drug overdose, this time from Park Street. When police arrived, Melrose Fire and ambulance were already at the home, DeCroteau said, treating an adult man for an overdose. That man was then transported to .

DeCroteau declined to comment on the substance involved in either overdose, saying that the substances had not been tested yet to verify and identify what they were.
