City: Saturday Morning Traffic May Be Impeded by Two Melrose Events

The Colleen Kelly road race and National Little League parade are planned for Saturday morning.

[Editor's note: The following information derives from a city of Melrose press statement.]

I would like to notify the residents of Melrose that there are two significant events tomorrow that may impede traffic between 7:30 and 9:30 Saturday morning.

The first event is the Colleen Kelly road race, which will begin at the Winthrop Elementary School at 8 a.m. and proceed past the common into Wards 6 and 7 and will finish at the common. There are approximately 300-plus runners and volunteers. The Melrose Police Department will be administering traffic flow and supervision. Please be patient.

At 8:30, the National Little League parade will begin at the Beebe School and finish at Conant Park, which will impact traffic in the Ward 3 area.

Thank you for your patience during these two important community events.
