A Senior Legislative Update with Rep. Paul Brodeur

The Wakefield Sons of Italy will be sponsoring “A Senior Legislative Update.” Our guest speaker will be State Representative Paul A. Brodeur. As the former Acting General Counsel at the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, Representative Brodeur will share his first hand experience and expertise in the areas of elder abuse, neglect and financial exploitation.

“As the son of two aging parents, I know first-hand that the state programs and information available to the elderly is not always common knowledge and at times can be hard to navigate. It is my hope that I will be able to provide some guidance to the seniors in our community in order to maximize the use of these state resources.”

Representative Brodeur will be delivering a full report on the current status of several pieces of legislation within the Elder Affairs Committee to include his legislation that would create a Commission on Elder Protective Services. He will also discuss some of the many state programs and resources available to our seniors. There will be a question and answer session following the presentation. If you are a senior or caregiver, you don’t want to miss this very informative presentation.

The event will take place on Tuesday, October 11 at 8:00pm at the Crystal Community Club, 77 Preston St. Wakefield. It is open to the public and refreshments will be served!

This event is part of the Sons of Italy national celebration of Italian-American Heritage month.
