DPW Recycling Event, May 19: Paper Shredding

Melrose Cooperative Bank, Mayor Dolan and JRM Hauling are sponsoring a special recycling shredding event at the city’s next Drop Off Recycling Day on Saturday, May 19. JRM Hauling will be at the event to shred personal papers from 8 a.m. and noon at the Tremont Street Operations Facility, 72 Tremont Street.

Melrose business owners and residents can bring boxes of paper to be shredded, free of charge. Cash donations will also be accepted to benefit local food pantries. 

In addition to the paper shredding, Public Works staff and the volunteers from the Recycling Committee will accepting CRT’s, televisions, monitors, bulbs, tires, mercury items, dried latex paint and white goods. Household recycling bins and recycling facility stickers will also be available to Melrose residents.
