Small Business Forum: The Economy, Capital Issues and Real Solutions

Representative Katherine Clark (D-Melrose) will be hosting a Small Business forum on "The Economy, Capital Issues and Real Solutions" on Thursday, August 26, 2010.  This forum will be hosted by Rep. Clark in conjunction with The Savings Bank of Wakefield.  The forum will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 in the morning at the community center at Oak Grove Village located at 12 Island Hill Avenue in Melrose.

In addition to Representative Clark, participants in the panel will include Larry Andrews of The Savings Bank, Suzanne Bowering of Holiday Travel in Wakefield, Ken Smith of the BDC Capital, Joe Scurio from East Boston Savings Bank, and Bob O'Brien from AdvicCoach.  The discussion will focus on the challenges and opportunities facing small businesses, economic development initiatives in Massachusetts, ways to access capital, and SBA financing.  There will be a number of local lenders and business owners on hand to take part in the discussion and answer questions regarding starting and running a small business in Massachusetts.
