Veterans Benefits Seminar

The American Legion Post 115 of Stoneham is pleased to announce a district seminar they will host on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011. The seminar will focus on Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 115, which enables every eligible Massachusetts veteran to receive certain financial, medical, educational, employment, and other benefits.

Veterans Agents Carl F. (Joe) Saunders and Natalee Webb will discuss both state and federal benefits for local area veterans, their surviving spouses and dependents, who are residents of Melrose, Stoneham, Saugus or Wakefield.

The seminar will be presented in two sessions to provide outreach to as many veterans and surviving spouses as possible. The first session will be at 2 p.m. at Stoneham's Senior Center located at 136 Elm St. For those who work, the second session will be held at 6 p.m. in the Post's upstairs hall located at 11 Common St. in Stoneham. Light refreshments will be served for both sessions and all attendees will receive a brochure on Federal and State Veterans' benefits.
