Mayor's Summer Internship Program Begins Its 9th Year

The deadline to apply is Thursday, June 16.

The following press release was submitted by Mayor Rob Dolan's office.

Once again, Mayor Robert J. Dolan will be offering a summer intern program at his office this summer. Interns will work together and separately on a variety of projects, from clerical work in the office to longer, more complicated tasks. The positions are unpaid but allow interns to gain valuable experience as well as insights into how city government operates.

“The summer internship program is a great way for teenagers to get some work experience and learn about working in a professional office environment,” said Dolan. “We really appreciate their service as well. After winding up the fiscal year at the end of June, we have a lot of filing and reorganization to do during the summer, and the interns’ work is invaluable. So while it looks good on resumes and college applications, this internship program also provides a positive benefit for the city as a whole.”

Most interns will work two days a week, about six hours per day, with a break for lunch, under the supervision of a graduate of the program. If you are interested in an internship, please call the mayor’s office at 781-979-4440 by Thursday, June 16.
