With snow in the forecast, the Melrose School Committee has postponed Tuesday's meeting until 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 in the Aldermanic Chamber at City Hall, according to an email to Melrose Patch from School Committee chairman Kristin Thorp.

"The timing of the snowstorm today would put us and the public out on the streets during the height of the cleanup," Thorp wrote in an email to Patch Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service's forecast for Melrose calls for 2-4 inches of snow during the day, with snow expected to hit the region starting around 11 a.m. There may be an additional 1-3 inches of snowfall during the evening hours, according to the forecast.
