Questions surrounding the political future of Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick have persisted since he announced he would not seek re-election to Beacon Hill in 2014.

Those questions reached a fever pitch Tuesday when state Democratic Party chairman John Walsh announced he'd be leaving his post to head up Patrick's Together Political Action Committee (PAC).

Later Tuesday, in response to questions from reporters at UMass-Boston, Patrick said he would not run for president in 2016.

According to the Washington Post, which cited a Boston Globe story, Patrick said he plans to return to the private sector after his gubernatorial tenure ends and spend more time with family and friends.

Do you think Patrick should run for president? Would he be successful if he were to make a bid? Leave your thoughts below.
