Poll Results: Gov. Patrick Should've Signed the Three Strikes Bill

That's what the majority of people who took last week's poll said.

, Melrose Patch asked you whether or not Gov. Deval Patrick should have signed the "three strikes"/Melissa's Bill without an amendment that increased judicial discretion or veto the entire thing.

Here's the breakdown of the results:

  • Seven people (87 percent) said, "He should sign it; otherwise he would be vetoing a good anti-crime bill by asking for amendments that only protect offenders."
  • One person (12 percent) disagreed, saying, "He should veto it; it lacks sufficient provisions for judicial discretion."

said in the comments section that "Deval patrick signed the bill for one reason. He had to or he would be unelectable and of no value to Obama as a campaigner. people are sick and tired of reading about repeat offenders committing horrendous crimes."
