Why Not!

Melrose Girls volleyball competes for a state championship at 2:30 today in Northborough.

Living in Maryland in 1988, I witnessed the worst start in baseball history, as the Baltimore Orioles lost their first twenty-one games.

But 1989 brought a whole new ballgame for the O's, as they battled for the top spot in the AL East, supported by the rallying cry, "Why Not!"

Melrose's terrific girls' volleyball team (23-1), coached by Scott Celli, travels to Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough today (game time 2:30 p.m.) looking to capture its first state championship against Marlboro.

Marlboro is just a couple of towns over, bringing a lot of fans. If you have the time and enjoy the excitement and pageantry of high school sports at its best, come to cheer for Melrose's best.

Why Not. It's really happening. Come on girls let's win this thing. Why Not!
