The mission statement of Melrose Public Schools defines a shared sense of purpose, direction, and opportunity…”We inspire, engage, support, prepare and challenge all students to achieve personal and academic excellence, to become life-long learners, and to be responsible, respectful and successful participants in our global community.”

At Melrose High School, your child will grow academically through rigorous course offerings designed to prepare all students for college or other post-secondary pursuits. We offer college preparatory courses in all subject areas, over 50 Honors courses and 13 Advanced Placement courses.
Additionally, students can choose from a wide selection of elective courses, from music and art to business and computer aided design. Our students learn to communicate clearly, think critically, and problem solve creatively. Technology is used effectively; students develop the ability to plan and set goals, and demonstrate behaviors that constitute good citizenship and respect toward others.

92% of Melrose High School Graduates attend college.

Melrose High School has experienced, dedicated faculty; over 75% hold a master’s degree or higher and 99% are licensed by the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Outside the classroom, Melrose High School offers competitive Varsity and sub-varsity teams in 16 sports, and over 40 clubs and organizations are available to students to foster growth in the areas of citizenship, leadership, community service, and social awareness. There is truly something for everyone.
