Public Works Day

is once again inviting Melrose youngsters to participate in the 8th annual Public Works Day at the . Melrose residents are also invited to bring their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, ages 8 or younger, to join in the event. The rain date will be Thursday, June 10.

The theme of this year's event is "Recycle Island," and many of the activities will have a pirate theme. Children attending Public Works Day will take an interactive tour of the City Yard and learn about street cleaning and road repair, water and sewer maintenance, recycling, snow removal, tree trimming, composting, and more. The recreational area across the street from the City Yard will be available for those who would like to pack a lunch or snack and enjoy some fun activities and music in the park with Public Works Staff.
