MHS Teams Open MIAA Tournament Play This Week

Find out when Melrose High School's teams play this week.

Melrose High School will begin play in their Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) tournaments this week, with girls' hockey team playing Monday night, according to the MIAA website.

The no. 14 ranked Watertown/Melrose (13-7-2) girls' hockey squad takes on no. 19 ranked Arlington (11-8-1) at 5 p.m. Monday in Watertown. The winner advances to the second round to play no. 3 ranked Westford (15-3-2) Thursday at the Groton School in Winthrop.

Meanwhile, the top-ranked Melrose High boys' basketball team earned a bye in the preliminary round after running the table (20-0) during the regular season. Melrose will play the winner from the preliminary round game between no. 16 ranked Arlington or no. 17 ranked Tewksbury at 7 p.m. Thursday at Melrose.
