Marlene Joslin—

Nominated by Katherine Kennedy, who said:

"Marlene Joslin, a kindergarten teacher at the is one of the most creative, innovative and caring teachers in the Melrose Public School System. She is not only a leading educator who understands the development and emotional needs of her students but has been a leader in the Melrose community by founding the annual Healthy Melrose Campaign, by volunteering with The Melrose Bridge and as an active member of . Marlene truly supports and is an expert in child development.

Marlene was also an involved member of The Melrose Human Rights Commission for five years as a representative of the Melrose Public School District and also wrote a children's book celebrating President Lincoln's Birthday which served as a fundraiser for the Lincioln School PTO."

Nominated by Deb Walz, who said:

"She is amazing. Supportive understanding and always available. Through this past year she 150 percent supported my daughter through her first year of high school during her medical challenge. She also brings in some of our veterans to speak about the different wars during their time. What a great way to learn. She has also been a great resource for this family while we learn who our daughter is becoming after brain surgery. I personally cannot thank her enough for giving of herself to so many."
