The Week Ahead: Santa at Pine Banks, School Holiday Concerts, and More

Why Go: Join in this popular music program for little ones. Rockin' Babies is for children aged 0 to 9 months and their parents. It runs from 11 a.m. to noon. Boppin' Toddlers is for children aged 10 months to 18 months and their parents. It runs from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.

When/Where: Wednesday, Dec. 14, 3:30 p.m. /  , 69 West Emerson St., Melrose

Why Go: The workshop is for children in kindergartern through third grade. Registration began on Thursday, Dec. 1 and will continue until all spaces are filled. All materials will be supplied by the library. For more information and to register please call the Children’s Room at 781-665-2314.

When/Where: Wednesday, Dec. 14, 7 p.m. / , 350 Lynn Fells Pkwy, Melrose

Why Go: The Annual Melrose Holiday Concert will feature performances by the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School Band and Orchestra and their Melrose High School counterparts. The Band will be performing under the direction of Mr. Buckley. The Orchestra will be performing under the direction of Mrs. Weeks. This will truly be a wonderful celebration and evening filled with festive holiday music. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

Pricing: $3 for students, $5 for adults.

When/Where: Friday, Dec. 16, 10 a.m. / , 590 Main St., Melrose

Why Go: This month's installment of the Melrose Kids Club features Kidzfun getting pre-school aged children up and dancing to develop coordination and work with one another.

Pricing: Free.

When/Where: Saturday, Dec. 17 and Sunday, Dec. 18 from 3- 8 p.m. / , 1087 Main St., Melrose

Why Go: Santa Claus will make his 62nd annual appearance at Pine Banks Park. Park Superintendent John Burgess and his park staff have worked to transform the Park into a mini-North Pole, to make Santa feel right at home. All visits with Santa are free to the public and visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras.
