When is the Melrose Kitchen Tour?

In our latest You Ask, Patch Answers post, find out when the sixth annual Melrose Kitchen Tour will be held.

In our latest You Ask, Patch Answers post, we answer this question: When is the Melrose Kitchen Tour?

The sixth annual Melrose Kitchen Tour runs from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, according to Cathy Jeannette, co-chairman of the tour, in an email to Melrose Patch. The tour is of the "10 most interesting kitchens in Melrose," according to the event site.

"Mark your calendar and grab a friend for a great afternoon touring Melrose’s most fun and interesting kitchens," reads a press statement. "Enjoy munchies and floral arrangements in every kitchen, and this year, order your Thanksgiving pies from us, too!"

Tickets cost $20 and can purchased at Brad Hutchinson Real Estate, 193 Green St.; RE/MAX Heritage Real Estate, 536 Main St.; Sexton and Donahue Century 21, 29 Essex St.; and Sit 'n Knit, 167 West Emerson St. Tickets can also be bought from any of the Melrose iRaiders or Vex team members, or from the iRaiders website. All proceeds benefit the Melrose iRaiders Robotics programs and teams.

According to the event site, here are the steps to follow to buy tickets and head out on the tour:

1. Purchase and print your online ticket. You will see three Melrose street addresses on the ticket.

2. On the day of the Melrose Kitchen Tour, go to one of the three addresses on the ticket you printed. Exchange your ticket for a tour guidebook that includes a map, driving directions, and descriptions of all the kitchens on the tour.

3. Enjoy the tour! Drive at your leisure from kitchen to kitchen, talk to the kitchen owners, and munch on snacks provided by local restaurants and eateries.

Thanksgiving Pies

Another fundraiser that will benefit the iRaiders programs is the sale of Thanksgiving pies, according to the website.

"We will be taking orders for Thanksgiving pies in one of the kitchens. The pies are made by Mann Orchards and generally considered some of the best in the area," reads the website. "First, sample the pies...Then order and pay for your pie(s) at the tour (cash or check), then pick up the frozen pie(s) shortly before Thanksgiving at the (Melrose Veterans Memorial) Middle School Cafeteria. More pick up details will be available the day of the tour."
