Whiz Kids: Greg Statho, Mystic Valley's First 1K Point Scorer

The member of the Mystic Valley Class of 2012 and Melrose resident was recently recognized for his sports achievement.

Melrose Patch Whiz Kid of the Week: Greg Statho

From Martin Gately:

  • Accomplishment: Recent graduate Greg Statho was presented with a commemorative ball at the school’s recent High School Awards night in honor of Greg’s status as the Eagles’ first 1,000 point scorer.
  • How he did it: The Eagle guard was an offensive force for Mystic Valley throughout his career. “To be the first 1,000-point scorer in the history of Mystic Valley basketball is quite an impressive accomplishment,” said boys’ varsity head basketball coach Tony Ferullo. “A four-year starter, Greg has made a name for himself as a terrific outside shooter and offensive player.  I’m very proud of his contributions to our program over the years, and I’m certain that he will be successful in whatever path he chooses to follow.”
