Whiz Kid: Student-Athlete Charlie Brickley

The 17-year-old has had numerous athletic and academic successes throughout his time at Melrose High School.

Melrose Patch Whiz Kid of the Week

  • Charlie Brickley, 17
  • School:
  • Accomplishment: Charlie has proven to be a top athlete and student throughout high school. 

How he did it: Charlie has played golf, hockey and baseball all four years of high school, said his mother, Cindy Brickley, in an e-mail. He ranked No. 1 on the golf team his junior and senior years, and was named captain his senior year. In addition, he won a PGA-sponsored golf championship this summer.

The 17-year-old also served as class president his freshman and sophomore years and as a student body representative his junior and senior years. He is a National Merit Scholar, second in his class, and recently received an award from the superintendent for academic excellence.
