Community Update

BOSTON, MA—Throughout the month of October,
schools and organizations across the 5th Middlesex District collected
clothing and other necessities to benefit children in need.  On Saturday, November 9, more than 50
volunteers joined Senator Katherine Clark and her staff to sort and package the
items for delivery to Cradles to Crayons.

“This year’s drive was a big success, and I
thank all our volunteers, our schools and community organizations, and everyone
who made a donation,” said Senator Clark. “I am inspired by the generosity and
caring spirit of our communities and so grateful for your partnership in this
important effort.”

“At this time of year especially, our organization receives
hundreds of requests each week for essential items like clothing, shoes and
boots, hats and gloves, and coats,” said Cradles to Crayons Founder and CEO
Lynn Margherio. “If it were not for the power of this community effort, we
would not be able to fulfill the requests from the thousands of children across
the Commonwealth who would otherwise be forced to go without these winter
items.”
