Common Ground

The Common Ground Teen Center is presently Located at the Melrose YMCA on Main St. The City of Melrose has entered into collaboration with the Melrose YMCA by agreeing to fund the staff that organize, supervise, and run the teen center. Assistance will also come from the Melrose Police Department and Common Ground Teen Center Founder, Ed Schmidt

 

Every Friday night the Common Ground teen Center is open for grades 6-9. During the school year Band Nights will take place on selected nights for grades 9-12. the hours will be from 7pm - 10pm with no admittance after 9pm. There is a $3.00 fee for entry. All persons attending must complete a waiver on the file website, at the Melrose YMCA(497 Main St..)  or at the Sports Center on Tremont St.

The Common Ground Teen Center will not be open on Saturday nights except for special events.

Qualified staff supervises the center and coordinates activities. The center offers billards, ping pong, a stand up arcade game, PS2 with Rockband and guitar hero, Nintendo Wii, a full sized gym for activities like basketball and dodgeball, board games, and plenty of comfy furniture
