The Horace Mann Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, May 13th at the Mt Hood Golf Course in Melrose, with a shotgun start at 1:30 pm. Friends and family are invited to join golfers following the tournament at 6 p.m. for dinner, dancing, raffles, and auctions.
This annual event is the school’s largest fund raising event and benefits educational opportunities for Horace Mann students, including items eliminated due to budget reductions over the years. This year's proceeds will be used to bring in additional educational and enrichment supplements to the school as well as acquire new software and other tools to assist teachers and support struggling readers. In the past, previous tournament money has funded MCAS tutoring programs, a mobile computing lab rack, mini-grants to teachers for specialized classroom materials, new library books and software, and Smart Board technology.
