Melrose’s Steven Langton, Driver Win First United States Medal in 2-Man Bobsled Since 1952

Langton and driver Steven Holcomb made the podium Monday.

Melrose’s Steven Langton and driver Steven Holcomb won a bronze medal Monday in the two-man bobsled at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

The two earned the United States first medal in the event since 1952.

Langton and Holcomb won the world championships together in 2012.

They’ll team up with Chris Fogt and Curt Tomasevicz in the four-man event Saturday and Sunday (schedule). The United States four-man team, led by Holcomb, won gold four years ago at the Vancouver games.

Langton’s brother, Chris Langton, is one of two alternates for the team.
