Mamayek, who works for international architecture, engineering and interior design firm TRO Jung/Brannan, rides with the team that his employer sponsors. He credits the visibility around the office for getting him involved with the PMC. Heading into this year's 32nd annual ride, TRO Jung/Brannan's team has raised $160,000 over six years of involvement with the Pan-Mass Challenge.

When asked why he chose the longest and most demanding of the various rides offered by the PMC, Mamayek said it was because the grueling 200-mile trek is "the epitome of doing the ride, and a great goal."

An experienced cyclist, Mamayek also cautioned other riders to stay away from the Sturbridge to Provincetown course if they aren't prepared to put in the training beforehand.

"This really isn't a ride for the weekend rider who is running on just passion," he said. "It's 200 miles ... You need to do a lot of training beforehand."
