Red Sox Tickets Available Due to Canceled Baseball Clinic

Tickets for Red Sox games on Monday and Tuesday of next week cost $50 for seats, $15 for standing room only.

Low enrollment led the Melrose Recreation Department to cancel the North Shore Navigators baseball clinic that was scheduled to start on Thursday this week, and the Recreation Department is now selling off tickets — originally purchased for clinic participants — to Monday and Tuesday's Boston Red Sox games versus the Cleveland Indians at Fenway Park.

Frank Olivieri, Melrose recreation director, said that enrollment —which cost $185 per person for the full package, including a ticket to a Red Sox game — fell far short of what was needed to run the clinic.

"We needed about 60," Olivieri said. "We didn't even get close to that. We had less than 10 signed up."

Due to the clinic's cancellation, the Recreation Department has 140 Red Sox tickets originally reserved for the clinic participants now available for purchase by the general public. The tickets for both the Monday, Aug. 2 and Tuesday, Aug. 3 games at Fenway Park are located on Upper Terrace A. Seats are $50 per ticket and standing room — previously $30 per ticket — have been slashed to $15 each.

All tickets are first-come, first-serve with a maximum of eight tickets per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Recreation Office located at Mount Hood Golf Course with either cash or check. For more information, call 781-662-9511.
