VIDEO: U.M. Army Marches Out From Melrose To Volunteer

Eighty volunteers spent last week living out of First United Methodist Church will undertaking work at homes of people in need throughout the area.

Last week, in Melrose became forward camp for the U.M. Army—United Methodist Action Reach-out Missions by Youth.

Returning to the Melrose area for their fourth summer, the program brings high school age kids together for a week of volunteer work, building wheelchair ramps and handrails, doing porch work, painting, minor roof repairs and more at homes of those in need.

Over 4,000 participants composed the U.M. ARMY this summer in 48 different cities, including the 80 people who came to Melrose last week, helping an estimated 1,500 needy families.
