Monday Essentials: Melrose High School Football Team Plays at Wakefield on Friday

Here is a sampling of five things happening in Melrose from Sept. 23-29:

1. The Melrose High School (2-1) football team plays at Wakefield High (2-0) at 7 p.m. Friday, according to the Max Preps website.

2. “The Secret Life of a Massachusetts Teen” presentation by mental health counselor Jon Mattleman starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School Auditorium, according to Mayor Rob Dolan's blog. The event, sponsored by the Melrose High School PTO, is free to attend.

3. The Melrose Dog Festival runs from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Knoll near the Dog Park, according to Mayor Rob Dolan's blog.

4. The Milano Senior Center will be showing "Paths of Glory" at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to Mayor Rob Dolan's blog. The senior center asks for a $1 donation or one canned good for the food pantry, and to make a reservation call 781-662-6886.
5. The Melrose Cemetery Committee meets at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Wyoming Cemetery Office, 205 Sylvan St., according to Mayor Rob Dolan's blog.
