2013 Melrose Dog Festival Kicks Off Sunday

The 2013 Melrose Dog Festival gets underway Saturday afternoon near the dog park on the Fellsway, according to the event posting on Mayor Rob Dolan's blog.

The festival is slated for 12-3 p.m. Sept. 29.

During the festival, there will be a dog show and awards given for various contests such as cutest dog and owner-dog lookalike. Other activities planned for the festival include giveaways, games, dog training and responsible pet ownership information and prizes will be given to dogs wearing their licenses.

Door prize proceeds will support the Melrose Dog Park.
