Weekend Agenda: Melrose Boot Camp Fundraiser to Help the Homeless

Check out a sampling of five activities going on Sept. 14-15 in the Melrose area.

Looking to do something this weekend in the Melrose area? If so, here is a sampling of five activities slated for Sept. 14-15:

1. There will be a fundraising outdoor bootcamp to benefit the homeless from 8-9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at East Knoll Park in Melrose, according to the Malden Chamber of Commerce website. Melrose Boot Camp will lead the exercises and the funds raised will go to Housing Families to help the homeless.

2. The Parents of Tots organization will be celebrating its 30th year with a birthday bash bonanza from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at Gooch Park in Melrose, according to an event posting on Melrose Patch.

3. The ninth annual Harvest Moon Festival is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at Fellsmere Pond in Malden, according to an event posting on Malden Patch.

4. Apothic will be having a tasting event from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at Kappy's Fine Wine & Spirits in Malden, according to the liquor store's Facebook page.

5. Help feed the hungry of Malden by volunteering at The King's Table's weekly community gathering from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 at 213-219 Main St., according to the Malden Chamber of Commerce website.
