I've gone to many gyms across the country for many years. 3 years ago I trained until my body fat was down to 4%. I'm currently at about 10% and work out 4 times per week minimum. I say those things so the reader will understand that I know a little something about gyms and working out. After going to this gym a few times I was told to be more quiet when setting the barbells down as it was scaring an older lady who was there with a fitness trainer. First of all, I do not 'drop' the barbells. I've been to many gyms where guys slam the barbells down and I am not one of those guys. Secondly, this is a gym with barbells. Even if I were one of 'those' guys, it shouldn't have warranted any interruption of my workout to make me feel uncomfortable working out there. They're Barbells!!! hahaha. Needless to say, I no longer felt comfortable working out there and I let the owner know that I could not work out there any longer because I was made to feel uncomfortable and I couldn't work out in a place where I had to constantly be worried about "noise" I was making. I explained the situation to him and asked that my contract be canceled considering the reasonable justification. He was adamant that I had "signed a contract" and that he was going to continue to charge me for the membership. Needless to say, I am now paying for two memberships. Not a great way to do business.
