Melrose Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition operates out of the Melrose Health Department at City Hall. The Coalition formed in 2006 under the leadership of the Health Department, two years after two Melrose youths died from overdose-related incidents.
The Coalition holds programs for both children and parents, runs alcohol compliance checks at Melrose establishments and focuses on providing children with healthy alternative activities, among other initiatives.
