Alleged Insurance Office Robber Charged with Kidnapping

The alleged knife-wielding robber broke into Williams and Alley Insurance Company on Main Street before it opened Friday morning, police allege, and held two employees against their will.

The man arrested after he allegedly broke into a Main Street insurance company's office and held two employees against their will has been charged with kidnapping, armed robbery and five other charges stemming from the incident, Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau said on Monday. Michael Wiltshire, 35, also faces charges of breaking and entering in the daytime with the intent to commit a felony; assault and battery; intimidation of a witness; malicious destruction of property worth more than $250; and possession of burglarious tools.
