This sweet girl loves attention.

Just the word can elicit sweet childhood memories: a mouthful of gumballs, un-wrapping your favorite chocolate bar, zipping you back to an easier time.  Our sweet Candy girl had an easier life until her owner became ill and the family decided to give up their two young cats (Candy’s less than 18 months old). However, they kept their kitten. Candy is waiting to fill your world with sweet new memories. So friendly and affectionate, she just wants to be close. Candy is stunning; with her white diamond face, pretty caramel and chocolate colorings, tabby stripes on her head and tail but not on her body; unique for a tabby. Kid-Friendly Fun: Lloyd Memorial Pool and Candy Castle

Take advantage of time with your kids and get out and enjoy these hot spots. Your Patch Passport gives you options for great local spots for kid-friendly fun.

There's tons of kid-friendly places to go in Melrose, but here are two that we really think stand out. The Lloyd Memorial Swimming Pool, operated by the state Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), is open every day during the summer season—typically from late June until late August. Of course, the pool gives kids a chance to have some summer fun. But there's also the opportunity for learning through the DCR's Learn to Swim program. Melrose is only one of 14 pools statewide where the program is offered. And while "Learn to Swim" might sound rudimentary, there's much more to the classes, which are taught by instructors certified by the American Red Cross.
