Photos: MPL's Lego Construction Club

Children were challenged to let their imaginations run wild create and construct structures out of Lego blocks, donated by the community. The results were fun, extremely creative, and incredibly detailed.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Melrose Public Library held the second of two inaugural meetings for the Lego Construction Club. Each month the library picks a different theme for club members to build on, and kids can either create something based on that theme or whatever pops into their heads. The new program is made possible through the donations of thousands of Legos by the Melrose community.

Inside the YMCA gym, many different tables and stations were set up for the Monster Bash.  Young children were able to try out different crafts and activities including the popular "Candy in a Haystack." Meghan Sullivan, the Youth & Family Director, took the time to talk about the event and explain what family events are being planned for the near future.
