The Lincoln Elementary School project was expected to happen in 2014; however, a recent $25,000 donation from the owner of a Dunkin' Donuts in Melrose has helped pushed the project's timetable to 2013.
While it appeared renovation work would not begin until 2014, a recent donation from a Melrose business has the Lincoln Elementary School playground project on track for this year. George Scrivanos, franchisee of the Dunkin Donuts location at 348 Main St., and Dunkin' Donuts made a $25,000 donation to the Lincoln School playground project, according to Mayor Rob Dolan. During a recent press conference, Dolan said he will propose the city contribute an additional $10,000 toward the project. Residents in Brookline supported a move to ban the use of all foam food and beverage containers, a move that was approved at Special Town Meeting.
One group of residents in the Bay State has taken a stand against the use of plastic foam food and beverage containers at local restaurants. Canton-based Dunkin Donuts spoke against the measure on Tuesday; spokesperson Christine Riley said that, despite looking, the company has not found a …

Stoneham detectives are looking for a man who appeared in two Dunkin' Donuts—the second of which he attempted to rob at knifepoint—in Stoneham Thursday, according to police. At 3:54 p.m., police responded to the Dunkin' Donuts on Franklin Street after an employee called about a suspicious man in the store. Because of him going into the store the (patrol) units started checking other Dunkin' Donuts and convenience stores to keep an eye out and give them a heads up that he was out and about." At 4:36 p.m., an officer visited the Dunkin' Donuts at 2 Lynn Fells Parkway and "before the …
