How Much Snow Will Melrose Get?

Check out the latest forecasts for the Melrose area.

Updated at 2 p.m. Wednesday Boston is in for some wet weather Wednesday through Friday, according to local forecasts, but don't get out your snow shovels yet. For Boston, the local weather teams are not predicting very much snow. Instead, expect a lot of rain and maybe some heavy slushy snow in spots. While areas inland may get a half a foot of snow, Boston's bigger concern is the three high tides during this storm. Flooding may become an issue along the immediate coast. Here are the latest forecasts from the local television news weather teams for the Melrose region. All totals were updated Wednesday morning: WHDH (7 News): All rain WLVI (NewsCenter 5): 1-2 inches along the coast, six inches or more inland WBZ (CBS Local): 2-4 inches WFXT…

Snowstorm Could Dump a Foot of Snow on Melrose This Weekend

Forecasters say Melrose area could get 8-12 inches of snow.

Once again, the snow is melting. But once again, don't put the shovels away: the weekend could bring more snow to the Melrose area. A new snowstorm is headed our way for Saturday and Sunday, forecasters say, and Melrose could see 8 to 12 inches of new snow before it's done. On his blog, WHDH meteorologist Pete Bouchard is calling for light rain along the coast Saturday with snow inland and snow across the region by Sunday morning. "Heavy snow through early morning Sunday. Roads will be tough to travel, and yes, your flight will most likely be delayed or cancelled. (Although I don't run an airline, so I'll let them have the final word.)," Bouchard writes.
