Call Off The Search: Griffin the Cat Returns Home Tuesday

Griffin, a 10-year-old black and white Tuxedo cat, returned home Tuesday afternoon, according to his owner.

Griffin, a 10-year-old black and white Tuxedo cat, returned home Tuesday afternoon, according to his owner. "Griffin is back!" wrote DeeDee Kearney, Griffin's owner, in an email to Melrose Patch Tuesday afternoon. "He came back today around 2:30 (p.m.)...definitely looks like he was stuck somewhere. He was very wet, muddy, hungry and cold.  "I think, with the mild temperatures today, he was able to get out from wherever he was. We are so grateful, and thank you again for all of your help in spreading the word." Missing Cat: Have You Seen Griffin in Melrose?

Griffin went missing in the Tremont Street area near Franklin Street in Melrose Friday night during the blizzard of 2013.

Griffin, a large 10-year-old black and white Tuxedo cat, went missing from a Tremont Street area home Friday night in Melrose during the blizzard of 2013, according to the cat's owner. DeeDee Kearney, Griffin's owner, initially contacted Melrose Patch via our Facebook page Saturday night. Griffin went missing early Friday before the height of the storm in the Tremont and Franklin Streets area, according to Kearney. "(Griffin) is ultra friendly, loves people and will receive attention and affection from anyone," wrote Kearney in an email to Melrose Patch Sunday. "He is an outdoor cat, does not wear a collar (he keeps losing them), but does have a microchip." Griffin went outside and normally returns quickly, especially in inclement weather…
