Stoneham Man Pleads Not Guilty to Charges in Melrose Hit-and-Run Case

Eugene Ledonne, 76, of Stoneham, was arraigned Tuesday in Malden District Court on charges of leaving the scene of accident after causing personal injury and assault and battery dangerous weapon (motor vehicle) stemming from an accident in Melrose Sunday.

A Stoneham man accused of running over a motorcyclist at a Melrose intersection Sunday morning pleaded not guilty to charges in a Malden court on Tuesday, according to officials. Eugene Ledonne, 76, of Stoneham, pleaded not guilty to charges of leaving the scene of accident after causing personal injury and assault and battery dangerous weapon (motor vehicle) in Malden District Court, according to Stephanie Guyotte of Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone's Office. Judge Matthew Nestor released Ledonne on $300 bail with conditions of no driving and no contact with the victim, Guyotte added.  Ledonne's next court appearance will be on Sept. 26, as he's scheduled for a pre-trial conference, according to Guyotte.
