Snow on South Avenue, Woodland Avenue and other streets in Melrose made commuting difficult Wednesday morning, according to reports on the Melrose Patch Facebook page. On Wednesday morning, we asked our readers to tell us about the roads and any problematic areas they encountered during their commute in the city. Readers reported several streets that were slick from the snow that fell Wednesday morning. Reader Betsy Benagh said, "Henry, West Highland, and Cliff were all slushy and slippery when I left just before 8 this morning, but Franklin was down to wet pavement. The roads around the schools were untouched this morning by plows. Sidewalks were icy and the driving was dangerous. We should have had a 2-hour delay this morning. I wonder if the fact that other towns in our immediate area were not delaying school had the "peer pressure effect" of doing nothing in Melrose... more ›
