Finding a COMPETENT BCBA for the special ed department. We have been without one for nearly 4 months. Better yet, maybe appoint more than one, as it seems to be a heavy load to have one person responsible for all of the elementary schools + pre-K. Our kids cannot wait any longer.   more ›

City Awards Innovation Grants

The city of Melrose awarded the Innovation Grants during a ceremony at Memorial Hall Wednesday night.

The city of Melrose awarded Innovation Grants during a ceremony at Memorial Hall Wednesday night. "The seven Innovation Grants announced (Wednesday night) have the potential to impact nearly every student in the Melrose Public Schools system," said Mayor Rob Dolan in an email to Melrose Patch. "The grants range in focus from new methods of teaching writing to our youngest learners at the ECC, to new strategies for empowering our occupational and physical therapists to support learning, to increasing the rigor of courses in core subjects at every grade level of our Middle School and High School. 5th Annual Melrose Kitchen Tour Kicks Off in November

Tickets are available for purchase for the Nov. 11 event which includes visiting several of Melrose's stylish kitchens.

The fifth annual Melrose Kitchen Tour, which benefits the iRaiders Robotics program, is slated for Nov. 11 from 1-5 p.m. While touring several kitchens in Melrose, there will be snacks and raffles going on during the event, according to a press statement, as well as floral arrangements on display. Kitchen owners will discuss how they designed and use their kitchen during the event. The tour of Melrose's stylish kitchen will begin with the addresses printed on your tickets, which cost $20 and will be available at these locations: Tickets can also be purchased from members of the iRAIDERS or VEX teams, or on the iRaiders website.
