Merlot needs a home. Will it be yours?
[Editor's note: The following column was submitted by Lots of Love Cat Rescue.] Just look at this gorgeous face. Merlot is our movie star cat, with her attention-seeking ways, even in the midst of another cat's photo shoot, here comes Merlot to block the camera’s view. At about one year old, sweet Merlot is on the small side, all black with a dab of white on her chest, her thick sable-like coat can be addictive to the touch. Whenever the opportunity arises, Merlot seeks out a lap, just wanting to be near. Her story: She entered into a cat trap meant for another, was not spayed and nobody claimed her. Merlot is comfortable with being picked up and will approach even strangers for attention. We get a sense she wasn’t handled a lot because …

Will you adopt this sweet cat?
Striker is Goofy and Fun, with Movie Star Charisma Striker is my name, but sweetness is my game. That is right, I am a beautiful, adorable, handsome, sweet, funny, and loads of fun. Oh, I am also a very modest guy, so I won’t toot my own horn. I will just let you look at my pictures. I can be goofy, or serious, or very chill as you can see. That is me, all me. Ok, I am not a small guy. But hey, there is lots of me to love. I like my kibble and I like it often. I will sit, patiently shifting my weight from right to left and squinting my eyes at you until you get the message and give me a treat. I want your attention, true. But, I want that treat even more, thank you very much. I also love, love, love to be held. If you pick me up, I will …

Together with HomeAgain’s recovery system, you’ll give your lost pet the best chance of coming back home. How Micro Chipping Works. Dog and cat micro-chipping is a simple procedure. A veterinarian simply injects a microchip about the size of a grain of rice beneath the surface of your pet’s skin. Similar to a routine shot, the injection takes only a few seconds and your pet will not react any more than if it was a vaccination. The microchip is a permanent pet ID …

Will you adopt this friendly cat?
I am sleek, sweet, and looking for my forever home. My name is Brenda and I am an almost all black except for two white toes and a few white hairs at my chest and neck. I think I am stunning. My foster thinks I am sweet as can be. I believe we are both right! Besides having two twinkly white toes, I also have a personality that is just as sparkly. I am very playful and love to snuggle. I came to PAWS with three young kittens and I used to run around and play with them. Now that they are gone, I will play with any other cat who is interested in having a romp. I get along with just about every cat I have met. So, I would be a perfect addition to your home if you are looking to add another feline. No worries about me getting anyone’s tail out…

This Siamese cat needs a loving owner.
[Editor's note: The following information derives from Lots of Love Cat Rescue.] Chapel was found in a church manger back in December of 2011. This sweet girl is still with us, and needs a home for the holidays. A homeless cat and kittens, seeking shelter in a manger on a cold winter night: this is Chapel's Christmas story. The kittens found a home, however Chapel still lingers in foster care, one year later. With her black silky fur and stunning golden eyes, she is a little over two years old, a mix of Siamese in her. Chapel went into a quiet foster home, one room with other cats that came and went. Springtime offered Chapel a new foster home that worked on her shyness and fear of people, introduced her to new cats, dogs, children and …

Lilo Bunny Wants to Hop Right into Your Heart
Sniff, sniff, sniff ... hello nice person. My name is Lilo and I am a one-year-old mini lop eared bunny who really likes people. And people seem to like me, too. I guess it is because I am quite cute with my hanging ears, beautiful harlequin markings, and sweet, twitchy, bunny nose. Rabbits just don’t get much cuter than I am, if I do say so myself. You might think I am a bit biased. But really, I am just a very happy and social boy who enjoys life and dreams of a wonderful home. So, you are asking yourself: Why do I need a bunny in my life? Well, I am just a bundle of pure joy. My favorite thing to do is to stick my nose out of my cage and ask to be patted. Whenever anyone is around, this is what I do. I also like to play. There are toys…

This shy duo needs a caring home to go to.
[Editor's note: The following column was submitted by Lots of Love Cat Rescue.] Ahoy there! Come aboard and meet our pirate kittens, Captain and Morgan. Upon laying eyes on them, you might want to shout, “Well shiver me timbers!” because together, these adorable mates share a pair of eyes. That’s right, Captain has the left one and his sister, the right one. However, they can run with the best of them, with their amusing kitten energy. Before saved, both lived a harsh outside life, constant pain from infected eyes. Because someone spotted them and took action, they became the lucky ones. Both kittens are healthy and stunning. Captain has a beautiful blend of gray and white fur. His right eye had to be removed because it was so infected. …

For Tippy the Fox Terrier, life is good.
PAWS (Protection of Animals in Wakefield Society) is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization serving Melrose and other neighboring communities. Life is good. I mean, I finally have my chance to be the PAWS Pet of the Week. I thought they would never stop with those silly cats and give me my chance to meet you. Hi, I am Tippy. I am a loving six-year-old purebred fox terrier and I love you already. Ok, I love everyone. But I am sure I love you even more than everyone else so please, please come adopt me. I am being fostered at an Animal Hospital and it's fun here. I get to sit with the receptionist and greet everyone. When she gets up from her chair, I jump onto it. They have started giving me my own chair to sit on. I …
