Koutoujian Attends White House Press Conference on Gun Violence

Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian was in Washington, D.C. Tuesday to attend a White House press conference calling for legislative action on Capitol Hill to reduce gun violence.

Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian will be visiting Washington, D.C. Tuesday to attend a White House press conference on President Obama’s gun violence prevention legislation.

President Obama will deliver his State Of The Union address at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

President Obama will deliver his fifth State of the Union address at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12. According to the New York Times, Obama will outline his second term agenda and focus on improving America’s middle class. On Wednesday President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden unveiled a number of efforts aimed at curbing gun violence in the United States. Massachusetts is home to some of the toughest gun control laws in the country, with local members of Congress urging the federal government do more to prevent tragedies like that in Newtown, Conn.  The state Executive Office of Public Safety and Security provided Patch with a summary of active firearms licenses in Melrose from 2008 through 2012. Fiscal Cliff Looms as Congress Gets Back to Work

The President and Congress have just a few days to avert automatic tax increases and spending cuts. A number of Massachusetts Congressmen suggest cutting nuclear programs instead.
