Second Full-Time Senior Van Announced

Mayor Dolan said the additional vehicle will help service an expanding senior population.

Note: The following was submitted by Mayor Robert Dolan:  I am very pleased to announce that the Adelaide Breed Bayrd Foundation and the City of Melrose will partner to purchase and staff a second full-time senior citizen van to meet the increasing transportation needs of the senior citizens of Melrose. Transportation is a key piece to ensure that senior citizens can remain independent and in their own homes. Last year alone, the Melrose Senior Center gave …

Middlesex Sheriff Talks Scams, TRIAD Program With Melrose Seniors

Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian, accompanied by a few local officials, visited with seniors at the Fuller House in Melrose Thursday morning.

Koutoujian was at the elderly care facility to talk about the latest inclusion of his new TRIAD program, an initiative he spearheads aimed at helping seniors avoid being scammed over the phone, online and through the mail. The …

My mother's 94 yrs. old and I was able to convince her to give up her license. Its a relief that she no longer drives. Her cognitive skills have deteriorated which is normal for someone her age, unfortunately she thought she her driving was fine.
