Small Business Saturday is on Nov. 24 this year, two days after Thanksgiving. It is a day for everyone to support the small businesses that their community thrives on. American Express founded the day in 2010 to help small businesses get exposure during the holiday season, when they might be otherwise overlooked. Busy Bee Bakery to Appear on Chronicle

Melrose-based Busy Bee Bakery and their boca negra and hand painted cookies will be featured during a food segment on Channel 5's Chronicle on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Your reader's choice for Melrose's best coffee looks like it has something going for it in the sweets department, too.  The Busy Bee Bakery will be featured as part of a segment on sweets during Chronicle Channel 5 News.  Both the bakery's boca negra - a flourless chocolate cake with white chocolate cream and fresh raspberry sauce - and hand-painted cookies will be featured.  The show is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, just before Thanksgiving.

A new massage studio opens its doors to customers for the first time Tuesday in Melrose. Alicia Green, owner of Balanced Being Massage, operates out of a 400-square-foot massage studio upstairs at 786 Main St. The massage studio space has brought the widely travelled Green back to her hometown of Melrose. “When we are balanced, it's all for our well-being,” Green said, explaining the ethos behind her studio. “It's a very personalized, one-on-one experience.” Green, a former concierge at the Ritz Carlton in Boston, knows how to pamper many different body types and personalities. Meet Melrose's New Coffee Shop: Jitters Cafe Inc.

Jitters, located at 12 Main St., opened its doors to customers in mid-October.

Looking for a place to perk up your mornings and afternoons? A new cafe in Melrose may have just what you're looking for. Jitters Cafe Inc., 12 Main St., opened its doors to customers on Oct. 16. For those who have yet to visit the cafe, it is open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends. Jitters is a modern coffee shop with a laid back, personal atmosphere featuring free wi-fi, comfy couches and booths and a chalk wall for the kids to write and draw on.
