A car crashed into a telephone pole in the area of Trenton Street and West Wyoming Avenue.

A car crashed into a telephone pole in the area of Trenton Street and West Wyoming Avenue. Melrose Police and Fire responded to the crash, which occurred sometime before 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to an unconfirmed scanner report. The vehicle was towed from the scene, according to the report. Verizon was notified and expected to visually inspect the damage to the pole, according to the report. It is unclear whether anyone was injured in the crash. We will post any updates we receive.

A home on West Wyoming Avenue was shot several times late Thursday night, according to a Melrose Police press statement issued Friday.

A home on West Wyoming Avenue was shot several times late Thursday night, according to a Melrose Police press statement issued Friday. At 11:50 p.m. Thursday, Melrose Police responded to West Wyoming Avenue near the Main Street intersection after receiving multiple calls about shots fired in the area, according to the statement. "Units that responded were met by witnesses that were in the area at the time," reads the statement. "It was apparent that several shots were fired from a vehicle into a multiple unit residence at 19 West Wyoming (Ave.)." After determining that no one was injured during the shooting, the scene was secured and a Melrose Police Detective unit responded to and processed the scene, according to the statement. …
