Former Melrosian Opens Winchester Pharmacy

Several dozen customers visited Winchester Pharmacy, which opened on Monday at the former Winchester Drug space at 568 Main St. The pharmacy is co-owned by former Melrosian Shaun Thompson.

Several dozen customers visited Winchester Pharmacy on Monday for the store's opening at the former Winchester Drug space at 568 Main St. in Winchester. The pharmacy is co-owned by former Melrosian Shaun Thompson. "The first day has been great. We've seen a lot more people come in than I had expected to see," said Steve MacNeill, president and co-owner of Winchester Pharmacy. "The stories we've gotten about this location and people just telling us about the history of the town...this town is just unbelievable. I could not ask for a better location and a better situation for us to get started." Melrose Vendors to Attend Mahoney's Winter Market in Winchester

Mahoney's second annual Winter Market opens at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12.

Dozens of vendors, including a few from Melrose, will be displaying their wares when Mahoney's second annual Winter Market kicks off Saturday morning at the Garden Center located at 242 Cambridge St. Melrose-based vendors Cannistraci Fine Foods and Just Add [Fruit] will be among those participating in the Winter Market this year, according to Mahoney's spokeswoman Lisa Roberts. The Winter Market, which opens Jan. 12, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday until March 16, according to a Mahoney's Garden Center press statement. Local farmers, artisans and other area businesses will be selling their products, including root vegetables, herbs, fruits, cheeses, meats, seafood, baked breads, desserts, and olive oils, plus select jewelry …

Malden Alleged Teen Shooter Arraigned on Intent to Murder Charges: The 17-year-old arrested in connection with Monday's shooting of another 17-year-old near Warren Street was arraigned in Malden District Court on Tuesday morning, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.  Tyrell Berberena, Jr., 17 of Malden, was arraigned on charges of armed assault with intent to murder, aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and carrying a loaded firearm without a license, according to a press release from the DA's Office. The 17-year-old victim sustained "serious injuries" in the shooting according to the DA's Office. Malden Patch previously reported he was taken to Mass.
