A Melrose man is accused of armed robbery at a Dunkin' Donuts in Saugus early Thursday morning.

A Melrose man is accused of armed robbery at a Dunkin' Donuts in Saugus early Thursday morning, according to a CBS Boston report.

Vyacheslav Phinney, 25, of Melrose, was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with armed robbery and assault. He allegedly went inside a Dunkin' Donuts on Route 1 around 2 a.m., hopped over the counter and stole $20 before fleeing the scene into the woods, an employee told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 in the report.

The suspect was described as being "white, clean shaven, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, with dark pants and may have been armed with a knife," reads the report. A short time after the alleged armed robbery, the suspect, later identified as Phinney, was taken into custody, according to the report.

Phinney was expected to be arraigned Thursday in Lynn District Court, the report adds.
