Melrose Falls to Tewksbury in State Football Semifinals

The Melrose High School football team lost to Tewksbury 32-14 Saturday in the MIAA Division 3 State semifinals at Cawley Stadium in Lowell.

The Melrose High School football team lost to Tewksbury 32-14 Saturday in the MIAA Division 3 State semifinals at Cawley Stadium in Lowell.

Tewksbury moves on to the state finals, where they will play Plymouth South Dec. 7 at Gillette Stadium.

Melrose had a strong playoff run, winning the Northwest Division 3 title after beating Woburn 31-7 on Nov. 15 in Melrose to advance to the state semifinal round.

Melrose opened the playoffs by beating Burlington 47-28 on Nov. 1 in Melrose in the quarterfinals. The Red Raiders then beat Arlington 49-7 in the semifinals on Nov. 8 in Melrose.
